Men's Basketball Knocked Off 74-48 at First-Place Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team posted a 74-48 victory over Curry Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center to run its winning-streak to nine games. The Lions improve to 9-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the decision. The Colonels fall to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in league play with the loss.

James Pina led Curry with 13 points, followed by Antonio Jones with nine and Matt McLean with eight.
Justin Wagner (Oklahoma City, Okla.) led his squad with 14 points while also registering five rebounds. Alex Jarman (Portsmouth, R.I.) notched 10 points, seven boards and two assists. Corey Doran (Fairfield, Calif.) posted nine points off the bench.

After Curry scored the game's opening basket, Eastern Nazarene erupted for 21 unanswered points to grab a 21-2 lead with 10:25 left to play.

The Lions took a commanding 30-5 lead with 4:45 remaining as Eric Lynch banked in a layup.
Christian Lynch buried a pull-up jumper as time expired in the first half to give the hosts a 36-13 advantage at halftime.

Eastern Nazarene knocked down 50% of its field-goal attempts in the first frame, including 4-of-8 from three-point land. Curry struggled from the field in the opening half, connecting on just 19.2% of its attempts while coming up empty on six attempts from behind the arc.

The Lions staved off the Colonels in the second half en route to picking up their ninth-consecutive win.

The Lions shot 49.2% from the field and 31.2% from beyond the arc on the afternoon. The Colonels were limited to 29.3% shooting from the floor and just 4-of-15 shooting from long range.
