Papalambros Named to All-CCC First Team for the Second Season in a Row

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Student-athletes from nine different institutions in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2013-14 All-CCC Men's Basketball Team. In addition to the all-conference team, four major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner were selected.

Curry College senior guard Lambros Papalambros (Quincy, Mass.) earned first team all-conference honors for the second season in a row. Papalambros surpassed 1,000 career points back on January 16 in a game against UMass Dartmouth. In just three seasons, he amassed 1,242 points, good for 10th on the school's all-time scoring list.

Nichols College senior Ryan Sheehan was selected as the CCC Player of the Year, as well as the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Gordon College junior Hans Miersma was honored for the second-straight year as the CCC Defensive Player of the Year, while Roger Williams University freshman Chris Bardwell was named CCC Rookie of the Year. Nichols' Jeff Lindgren was tabbed CCC Coach of the Year and Western New England University received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men's basketball coaches.

Joining Miersma, Sheehan and Papalambros on the first team were Barrett Hanlon (Salve Regina University), Jaylen Owens (Eastern Nazarene College), and Dennis Rinaldi (Western New England).

Second team honorees included Jeff Bielefeld (Salve Regina), Alex Carnes (Gordon), John Henault (Endicott College), Eric Lynch (Eastern Nazarene), and Ryan Palumbo (Roger Williams).

Joining Bardwell on the third team were Marlon Bennett (Nichols), Jherson Colon (Wentworth Institute of Technology), Patrick Dinneen (Salve Regina), Sam Horning (Nichols), Lachlan Magee (Endicott), Derek Mayo (Wentworth), and Park Thomas (Gordon).
