MILTON, Mass. – Endicott College outlasted Curry College, 86-82, with a late second half rally in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Milton. The Gulls improved to 10-2 on the season and 4-1 in CCC play, while the Colonels fell to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in league play.

Endicott took an early 11-point lead (36-25) after freshman Chris Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) converted a layup with 8:22 left in the first period. The Colonels chipped away throughout the remainder of the first half, trimming the deficit to five (44-39) heading into intermission.

In the second frame, the Gulls extended their lead back to 11 (58-47) with 15:18 on the clock after senior Lachlan Magee (Melbourne, Australia) made a layup. Curry answered with a 28-11 run to claim a six-point edge (75-69) with 5:01 left in regulation. The run began after freshman Paul Preziosi (Quincy, Mass.) converted on a three-point play and was later capped off with a made jump shot by senior Carlos Ribeiro (Charlestown, Mass.).

With 49 seconds remaining, Endicott took a 79-77 lead after freshman Max Motroni (West Warwick, R.I.) sank a jump shot. Over the next 40 seconds of play, the Gulls outscored the Colonels, 5-3, including Motroni shooting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe to extend the lead to four (84-80). Freshman Rodney Beldo (Dorchester, Mass.) converted on a layup down the other end to cut the lead to two (84-82) with four seconds left. Curry immediately fouled Matroni, but he sank both free throws to account for the 86-82 final.

Endicott was led by Lipscomb with a team-high 16 points. Heanault and senior Greg Jacques (Brockton, Mass.) chipped in with 15 and 11 points, respectively. Freshman Daquan Sampson (Germantown, Md.) pulled down a team-best eight boards.

Junior Antonio Jones (Dorchester, Mass.) led all scorers with 22. Senior Lambros Papalambros (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 19 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Ribeiro added 14 points, while Preziosi and Beldo contributed with 11 and 10, respectively.

Both teams return to CCC action on Wednesday, as the Gulls host Nichols for a 5:30 p.m. contest, while the Colonels travel to Roger Williams for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
