Jones, Corcoran Earn CCC Weekly Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Curry College senior forward Sedale Jones (Pittsfield, Mass.) and sophomore forward Samantha Corcoran (Hampton, N.H.) were named as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the period ending November 18.

Jones averaged an impressive 33 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game this week, while compiling a .535 field-goal-percentage.   Jones led the Colonels to a 1-1 record in the opening week of the 2012-13 campaign. In a 97-96 away victory over Colby-Sawyer, Jones netted 25 points, gathered six rebounds, and had two steals. In a hard-fought 117-96 loss to #5 Amherst College, Jones scored a career-high 41 points while pulling down five rebounds. Jones led the Colonels to the championship game at the Amherst Tip-Off Tournament, and was also named to the All-Tournament team. He also surpassed 1,000 career points at Curry in just over two seasons.

Corcoran helped led the Colonels to two home tip-off tournament wins averaging 12.0 points per game. Corcoran opened the weekend with a near double-double, with eight points and 10 rebounds in Curry’s 60-32 win over Southern Vermont. She then recorded a 16 point, 13 rebound double-double in a 69-56 win over Fitchburg State. Overall, Corcoran shot an impressive .526 percent from the field, a perfect 4-4 from the line, while recording 11.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals per game.
