Jones averaged an impressive 33 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game this week, while compiling a .535 field-goal-percentage. Jones led the Colonels to a 1-1 record in the opening week of the 2012-13 campaign. In a 97-96 away victory over Colby-Sawyer, Jones netted 25 points, gathered six rebounds, and had two steals. In a hard-fought 117-96 loss to #5 Amherst College, Jones scored a career-high 41 points while pulling down five rebounds. Jones led the Colonels to the championship game at the Amherst Tip-Off Tournament, and was also named to the All-Tournament team. He also surpassed 1,000 career points at Curry in just over two seasons.
Corcoran helped led the Colonels to two home tip-off tournament wins averaging 12.0 points per game. Corcoran opened the weekend with a near double-double, with eight points and 10 rebounds in Curry’s 60-32 win over Southern Vermont. She then recorded a 16 point, 13 rebound double-double in a 69-56 win over Fitchburg State. Overall, Corcoran shot an impressive .526 percent from the field, a perfect 4-4 from the line, while recording 11.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals per game.
