Four From Football Honored By CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Four members of the Curry College football program were honored by Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) on Tuesday morning as the league announced its annual awards.

Sophomore running back Zach Levy (Bellingham, Mass.) and junior defensive lineman Hunter Atwood (Reading, Mass.) were selected to the all-conference first team. Junior wide receiver Nick Villanueva (Hanson, Mass.) and senior fullback Daniel Delos (Canton, Conn.) earned spots on the second team.

Levy broke onto the scene for the Colonels this season, ranking third in CCC Football in rushing yards per game (81.5) and second in rushing touchdowns with 10. Playing in all 10 games, he ranked third in total rushing yards with 815 yards on 159 carries. Levy also tallied 23 receptions for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Atwood lands on the first team after he led Curry in tackles with 57 total (38 solo, 19 assists), playing in all 10 games. He also had 13 tackles for loss and ranked third in the conference in sacks with five. Atwood was named as the CCC Football Defensive Player of the Week on October 28.

Villanueva is a repeat selection to the all-conference second team. He appeared in all 10 games and ranked third in the conference in receiving yards per game (65.5) and caught six touchdowns. The junior finished the season with 655 yards.

Delos rounds out the all-conference selections for the Colonels, landing on the second team. He scored one touchdown on the ground and pulled in seven receptions for 52 yards in 10 games.

Curry concluded its season with a 3-7 overall record.
