BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The fourth Grinold Chapter New England Division III weekly rankings of the 2017 season have been released and the Curry College football team now sits alone in sixth in the poll after being tied for sixth last week. The Colonels captured their last contest, a 40-0 victory over Becker College to open Commonwealth Coast Football play on Saturday afternoon.

The New England Division III Football Poll is presented by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, which also serves as the title sponsor of the weekly Gold Helmet Awards presented by the New England Football Writers Association throughout the season.

A 15-member panel representing all five New England Division III playing conferences will serve as voters in this year's poll, and rankings will be released each Monday afternoon through November 13. Curry head coach Skip Bandini is on this year's voting committee.

Springfield College comes in at the number one spot for the fourth straight week, capturing 148 points and 13 first-place votes. Trinity moves up one spot to second with 134 points and one first-place vote. Plymouth State slid up three spots and is in third with 105 points and tallied the final first-place vote. Framingham State falls to fourth place with 74 points while Salve Regina rounds out the top five with 68 points.

Curry (57), Husson (51), Western Connecticut (46), MIT (45) and Williams (41) round out the bottom half of the poll.

The Colonels continue Commonwealth Coast Football play on Saturday when they host Nichols at 1:00 p.m.
