Curry Selected Fourth in Inaugural CCC Football Preseason Coaches' Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Curry Football team has been selected fourth in the now rebranded Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon.

The Colonels football program opens the 2017 season with a solid core of returners and a talented group of newcomers. The Colonels return six offensive and six defensive starters to the team, highlighted by captains Alex Corvese (Cranston, R.I.), Steven Grogan (Forestdale, Mass.), and 2016 All-Conference performer Ryan Boucher (North Reading, Mass.).  Curry looks to improve in all three phases (offense, defense, special teams) and to improve their overall and conference records.

Western New England grabbed the number one spot in the poll, capturing 34 points and five first place votes. Salve Regina placed second with 28 points. Endicott rounds out the top half of the rankings, tallying 26 points and one first place vote.

Curry (16), Nichols (12), and Becker (10) close out the bottom half of the poll.

The Colonels open the 2017 season on Fri. Sept. 1 at home against Fitchburg State at 7:00 p.m.
