Cheerleaders Place 8th at NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Curry College Cheerleading Team finished in 8th place at the NCA/NDA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida this past week.

They scored an 8.193 out of 10.0 with deductions at the preliminary competition which brought them to the finals mat in addition to the other top eight teams in their division.

Their overall score was an 8.203 at the Finals competition with deductions. Both scores are the highest scores Curry Cheerleading has ever scored, making history once again.

All-Girl III is one of the most challenging divisions at NCA Nationals. There were 15 teams in their division, and a total of 250 colleges competing for a National Championship. "We did compete against some of our hometown teams like Bridgewater State University and Framingham State University," said Head CoachNicole Bello.

This is the third-consecutive year the Cheerleaders have made it to the finals mat, and they have bested their personal score each year.

"We are extremely excited for the upcoming 2012-2013 season to bring on new members to share in all the great success the Cheerleading program has had," added Bello.
