Cheerleaders Place 9th at NCA Nationals in Daytona, Florida

DAYTONA, Fla. - One squad one by one performs in front of the nation's toughest judges and that #1 spot is fair game. A total of 17 squads out of hundreds of colleges nationwide practiced countless exhausting hours for the chance to be at Nationals. Curry College was one of those 17, winning the right to compete at a prestigious cheerleading camp they attended last summer.

The first day of the competition was the preliminaries on April 8, 2010. Curry Cheerleaders did their well-practiced routine for the first time for an audience of thousands, managing to secure a finalist position for the first time in Curry College history. On April 9, competing against 17 other squads from across the nation, they made it to the finals and performed in front of millions, broadcast on public television, coming in 9th place in the nation at the elite NCA Nationals in Daytona, Florida with a score of 8.009.

Head Coach Nicole Palermo and Assistant Coach Ashley Robichaud came to Curry College in 2009.
