MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Baseball team was defeated by non-conference opponent Lesley University Monday afternoon on Vallely Diamond.
With the loss, Curry dips to 10-19 overall this season. With the win, Lesley University improves to 14-21-1.
The afternoon bout saw no scores from either side through 10 innings. Curry's Bobby Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) pitched the opening six innings while allowing just two hits. Lesley's Dylan Langston threw for nine innings, allowing five hits.
In the top of the 11th inning, a series of errors in succession found Lynx third baseman in a scoring position. The next at-bat saw the afternoon contest's lone run. Lesley's Ronnie James blasted a hit back to Curry reliever Conor Quinlan (Taunton, Mass.), pushing Langston into home and giving the visitors a one-run lead.
The Colonels were unable to fight back against the one-run deficit, closing out the bottom of the 11th on two fly-outs and a strikeout. Lesley would take the contest by a final score of 1-0 on Vallely Diamond.
The Colonels return to the field Wednesday (4/27) as they travel to face non-conference opponent Dean College at 3 PM.
