Baseball Places Three on All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Three members of the Curry College baseball team were recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) on Wednesday afternoon as the league announced its annual awards and All-Conference teams. Junior Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.) was selected to the Second Team while sophomore Dylan Ketterer (Plymouth, Mass.) and freshman Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) were placed on the Third Team.

Keller was a staple in the Curry lineup and led the Colonels in multiple offensive categories. He played in 33 games and registered a .352 batting average (37-for-105) with nine doubles, one triple, two home runs, 25 RBI, and 17 runs scored. Keller also posted an on-base percentage of .435 and a slugging percentage of .514. He also recorded 54 total bases and had 12 extra base hits. Defensively, he tallied a .966 fielding percentage.

Ketterer lands on the Third Team after a season where he played in 34 games and registered a .238 batting average (24-for-101). The sophomore has recorded seven doubles, nine RBI, and scored 17 runs. Additionally, Ketterer had an on-base percentage of .330 and a slugging percentage of .307. He tallied 31 total bases and a fielding percentage of .990. Ketterer also caught 15 runners stealing.

Leonard rounds out the Colonels' All-Conference Selections after an impressive freshman campaign. He was selected to the Third Team after a season where he played in 34 games, registering a batting average of .282 (33-for-117). Leonard also put up team-highs in doubles (11) and home runs (5), while tossing in 25 RBI and 19 runs scored. He tallied an on-base percentage of .360 and a slugging percentage of .504. Leonard also paced Curry with 59 total bases and 16 extra base hits. Defensively, he had a .936 fielding percentage. He was named as the CCC Rookie of the Week on March 4.

The Colonels round out the 2019 season with a road contest at Salem State today, May 1 at 3:30 p.m.
