BROCKTON, Mass. – The Curry College baseball team tied a season-high in hits en route to a 15-4 victory over the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Thursday night at Campanelli Stadium.

The Colonels scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings, starting with two in the top of the first. Senior Tyler Jenkins (East Bridgewater, Mass.) connected on a one-out single and then advanced to second on an error in the outfield. The base knock and error allowed freshman Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) and junior Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.) to score to put Curry up 2-0.

The visitors tacked on three more in the second. Keller started the offense when he drove in classmate Adam Duarte (East Providence, R.I.) on a sacrifice fly to left. Leonard followed with a single to left field, which plated freshman Julian Jaume (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Senior Jack Kallinich (Madison, Conn.) tallied the final run of the inning after he scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 5-0.

Sophomore Aidan French (Chicago, Ill.) then stepped to the dish and delivered a two-run single to left field, which scored freshman Nate Ladeira (Fall River, Mass.) and junior Dan Mitchell (Avon, Mass.) to make the score 5-3.

The offensive onslaught continued for the Colonels in the third as they added two more runs. Jaume sent both runs home on a two-run single to right center. The base hit sent sophomores Dylan Ketterer (Plymouth, Mass.) and Garrett Fosher (Exeter, N.H.) around to score.

Curry then broke the game open with an eight-run fourth. The frame featured eight hits and one error to extend the lead to 15-3. Jenkins drove in the inning's first run on a single to left field to bring Keller home. Ketterer continued with another base-hit, which brought home Jenkins. Duarte drew a bases-loaded walk to send home Fosher. Jaume closed the scoring with a double to left and then advanced to third on an error by the catcher. Duarte, senior Spencer Cookson (Sheffield, Mass.), and Ketterer came around to score on the play.

Wentworth plated its final run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth on a single to right center by Smith, which plated freshman Matt Bishop (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) to close out the 15-4 score.
