Baseball Concludes Florida Trip With Loss To Beloit, 7-0

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Curry College's annual Florida spring break trip came to an end on Thursday afternoon as Beloit College shut out the Colonels, 7-0, at Chain of Lakes Stadium.

The Buccaneers held Curry to only three hits and became the second team to post a shutout against the Colonels this season. Michael Couhig (Falmouth, Mass.), Tyler Jenkins (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Zach Bowden (Taunton, Mass.), and Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.) each tallied a hit to close out the column.

Beloit scored runs in two of the first four innings to lead 4-0 after five. Curry managed only two hits over the final four innings.

Beloit finished with 13 hits in the contest. Curry also committed three errors in the field.

Starting pitcher Danny Belling went the distance, only allowing four hits while walking one and striking out two. Senior Robert Reedy (Cumberland, R.I.) threw 5.2 innings and gave up four runs (one earned) on eight hits and struck out one in the loss.

Curry will return north and will return to action on Thursday, March 22 at Amherst at 4:00 p.m.
