AUBURNDALE, Fla.  – The Curry College baseball team fell to St. Norbert College, 7-5 at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida on Tuesday afternoon. With the victory, the Green Knights move to 3-2 while the Colonels slip to 2-7 overall.

Curry got on the board in the first on a two-out home run from Justin Cage (Glendora, Calif.) to give the Colonels the early advantage. St. Norbert answered with a run of their own when Sean Grant (Midlothian, Ill.) singled to drive in Derek Klegin (Marinette, Wis.).

The Green Knights claimed their first lead of the contest in the bottom of the third. Tyler Banovich (Midlothian, Ill.) started the scoring with a triple, which drove in Hunter Larson (Marquette, Mich.). Grant helped St. Norbert add to their lead with an RBI groundout to first. The hit brought in Banovich.

Curry responded in their half of the fifth with two runs. Nick Crivello (Millville, Mass.) singled to score Alex McLean (Eliot, Maine). Mitchell Carvalho (Cranston, R.I.) followed Crivello with a single of his own to score McLean to knot the game at three.

St. Norbert took back the lead in the sixth when Ray McDonald (Washington Island, Wis.) singled to score Grant. That play gave them a 4-3 lead.

The Colonels then put up one in the top of the seventh. Crivello singled and advanced to second on a throw which allowed Vincent LoPriore (Boston, Mass.) to cross home.

The Green Knights recorded three runs in the top of the seventh to go up 7-4. Curry would get one of those runs back in the ninth as the Colonels would fall 7-5.

Michael Moreau (Marshfield, Mass.) paced Curry with a 3-for-5 day at the plate with two runs scored. Crivello and Jack Kallinich (Madison, Conn.) pitched in two hits each while six others added one hit each.

 Nick Klavekoske (Beaver Dam, Wis.) picked up the win for St. Norbert, tossing two and a third innings, giving up one run on two hits while striking out one and walking one. McLean got the loss for Curry surrendering seven runs on 11 hits. He struck out eight without walking a single batter.

Curry returns to action Wednesday for a doubleheader against Keene State beginning at 11:00 a.m.
