Baseball Battles Visiting Bridgewater State to a 10-10, 12-Inning Tie
MILTON, Mass. – Curry and Bridgewater State played 12 innings before darkness fell, ending in a 10-10 tie in non-conference baseball action Wednesday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels record moves to 2-4-1 while the Bears now stand at 6-5-1.

Bridgewater took a 10-7 lead in the top of the eighth, but Curry pulled even with three runs in the bottom of the eighth. The teams then played four scoreless innings before the game was called due to darkness.

Offensively, the Colonels were led by sophomore Derek Pizarro, who went 3 for 7 with four runs batted in. Junior Matt O’Neill notched a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs. Senior Sean Riley paced the Bears’ offense, going 4 for 5 with two RBI, including a solo home run to lead off the game. Senior Trevor Lawson collected two hits and three runs batted in.

Curry sophomore starter Thomas Fitzpatrick went two innings, surrendering two hits, a walk, and two earned runs, while striking out one. Bridgewater freshman starter David Holmes tossed three innings, allowing four hits, two walks, and four earned runs, while fanning two.

Both teams resume play on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. with the Colonels hosting Fitchburg State and the Bears visiting Suffolk.
